It was in fact closure while the rest of the film did open up many story arcs to be explored in more depth.Īround the edges of the film were some subject’s which I always find frustrating to see when they come across as being presented as a topic of note by the producer / writer etc. The open ending wasn’t much of a cliff hanger and did not achieve what i think it was set out to do - leave you wanting more. While the story is focussed entirely around the love of two characters it’s not the main theme which was somewhat disappointing as what little there was came off as powerful and real. I genuinely didn’t expect it either ! I think it made for good story telling but again feel to point out where the focus shifted after the plot twist wasn’t needed and could of stayed where it started while still shifting over to the other angles of the story in segments - perhaps equally key but smaller scenes allowing for more screen time / attention to romance. I liked the plot twists, always good to have a hook & catch for both the observer and the character. The entire feel of the film was slightly different and it never really achieved its earlier sense of heartfelt longing & curious lusting for the characters and their story. It served a meaningful purpose and allowed the story t be told in its own way but i don’t think it was a necessary change. Those unique stand alone B class films that some how manage to leave you wanting more or having some questions answered at least ! Perhaps it is still the case but not nearly as much as I had anticipated earlier on in the film as some missed opportunities arose from a sharp change in focus on both protagonist and setting. Within the first ten minutes i felt this was going to be one of those favourites. Romance, drama and Fantasy / SciFi are easily favoured genre’s but when blended well they are better than any of their individual themes and Orbiter 9 gets this right, for the most part. (well some of it as i anticipated spoilers!) since watching 3MSC movies for the first time 4 or so years ago i’ve always been pleasantly surprised and curios when Clara Lago’s name appears in a title so when i stumbled across this little gem I had to check out the trailer.
